Ana Vidigal

Ana Vidigal was born in Lisbon in 1960. She completed the Painting Degree at Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa in 1984. She was awarded a grant by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (1985/1987) and took an internship in Metal Engraving with Bartolomeu Cid at Casa das Artes de Tavira (1989). Vidigal was a resident painter at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea – Fortaleza de São Tiago, Funchal (1998/1999). In 1995 and 2002 she was invited by the Lisbon Underground for the execution of tile panels for the stations of Alvalade and Alfornelos (built), respectively. In 1997 she executed, at the invitation of the Portuguese Institute of Architectural Heritage, a porcelain cup integrated in the project "Um Artista, um Monumento". Vidigal illustrated the book of children's poems "Como quem diz" by António Torrado/Assírio e Alvim, 2005.
